The Perfect Stranger Songwriting Contest

In 2025, Future Youth Records partnered with Jesse Colin Young, founding member and lead singer of the Youngbloods, for The Perfect Stranger Songwriting Contest inspired his the 1982 record “The Perfect Stranger.” The contest invited young songwriters to create a unifying anthem about the power of connection. The selected song, “A Little Sunshine,” was written by youth artist Syante and released on March 7, 2025. Future Youth Records was honored to collaborate with Jesse on what became his final creative project before his passing on March 16, 2025.
