What change would you like to see in the world that would support environmental justice?

I would definitely want to see more concrete goals than just visions of how we’re going to save the climate. I mean, visions are great but I think we need to take action now because we’re running out of time.
— Maja Mäkiranta (19) - "Mother"
I’d love to see people becoming more aware of it. Like, little changes can have such a huge impact...I’d also love to see companies using more biodegradable materials and sustainable energy.
— Jenna Coughlan (18) - "Smoke Storms"

Why do you think music is transformative?

I think music is transformative because it’s the #1 thing we actually listen to. There’s a lot of speeches we hear, there’s a lot of people on the news talking, there’s a lot of adverts, there’s a lot of instructions, but I think one thing we actually all listen to is music. That’s one thing we can all feel connected to.
— Daliso Phiri (19) - "Think Earth"
It’s universal. Every single culture, race, and denomination of the world uses music to communicate...You can have two entirely different people from different ends of the world and they can communicate through music...Then you have a mutual understanding, a mutual meeting of minds. It’s like you, you’ve been through that too. You get it. You know how I’m feeling, you know how I felt, and we’re so different.
— Lebogang Mbuyisa (24) - "Mother Earth"
