Think Women
Empowering women through music
Think Women is Future Youth Records’ longest-running initiative, centered on women’s empowerment and amplifying youth voices from around the world. Since its launch, the campaign has seen thousands of youth artists submit original songs that challenge stereotypes, celebrate strength, and empower women through music.
The campaign began in 2012 with a group of girls from Mission Girls Services who were frustrated with how women were portrayed in rap music and wanted to write their own song to empower women. In just five days, they wrote and recorded an empowering anthem titled “We Are the Women” at Studio Trilogy, followed shortly by the filming of an accompanying music video. The video was submitted to the Super Bowl 50 Committee as part of their grant program celebrating the Super Bowl’s return to San Francisco. Out of more than 600 submissions, the girls were selected as one of only 50 grant recipients.
That moment sparked the foundation of what would become Think Women. Today, it continues to inspire young artists globally to use music as a tool for empowerment, self-expression, and social change, reinforcing Future Youth Records’ commitment to uplifting the next generation of voices shaping a more equitable world.
